Horizontal Directional Drilling HDD
HDD is a specialist technique designed to install pipelines under obstructions such as rivers, roads, canals, railways, runways estuaries, Sites of Special Scientific Interest, farmland and even other pipelines.
The principle is simple, and yet the skill and experience required to get it absolutely right, is significant.
In the simplest terms, HDD installation is achieved in just three stages. First a pilot hole is drilled, then the hole is reamed out to the required diameter. Finally the pipeline is pulled through the hole.
Stockton's highly efficient computer-controlled HDD system is a precise way to lay pipelines while avoiding surface features. However, it also creates minimal disruption, requires no additional excavation and can be initiated in as little as a single day. It is ideal for use in environmentally or agriculturally sensitive areas.
